It’s relaxed. It has music. There are usually drinks. And you can have a conversation while also getting easy laughs with the game you’re playing.
Bowling is a great first date. But it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

People are allowed to have these kind of preferences. And the original poster implied the person who asked them on the date is 46. They could be younger than that. This reminds me of the coffee date debate. If someone doesnt want to go get coffee on the first date then they dont have to. Same with going bowling or whatever else they don’t want to do on a first date.

Got trashed on another site for suggesting this type of activity as a first date. Nice to see others also think it sounds fun. Next month will be our 20th anniversary and we still laugh over going bowling or playing darts and how bad I am at pool.

Bowling on a first date isn’t a good idea because when are you gonna talk? One of you is always standing up and going to toss your ball. Same with going out for a meal. You’ve gotta spend time to read the menu and then you’re watching each other eat part of the time. Also, a movie is a bad idea because you’re not talking or seeing each other.
In my opinion, save those for a few dates in.
